No Clive and Len, but we had a chat with Clive on the dog & bone re. some parts which we could not locate and then received a text from Len to say he was feeling a bit under the weather.

The day was very cold again first thing so a brew was partaken of to warm us up, before deciding what we would do today.
The mobile tower scaffold was still in use at Townsend Fold so the job of replacing electronic units in the station lamps at Heywood would have to be postponed again.

With the cold weather in mind John reassembled the two carriage plug shells which had been stripped, cleaned and painted last week.
Once they had been reassembled they were tested for continuity and then heat shrink-ed were the cable enters the carriage plug, this prevents water ingress and corrosion.

Jonathan and myself did the fire alarm call point checks in Bury Bolton Street Station and The Trackside pub/cafe, everything worked satisfactorily and we recorded the facts in the log books.

Jonathan and myself then measured up were the new components would be fitted in the three ex. Nuneaton station lamp heads which Peter Duncan had obtained for us in a very derelict state. The plates had been previously de-rusted and painted black ready to accept the new components which have been obtained to bring them back into use eventually on platform two in B.B.S. Station.
The first was was then drilled and the components fitted and tested to ensure everything was working, the other two lamp heads will be done next week probably.
Lunch was then taken after which we decided to catch the standard at BBS up to Heywood and return before then engine returns to Butterley, what a fine sound this engine makes on it's climb up to Heywood.
We had a chat with the T.T.I for the day Mr. Mike Moore, there i said i would mention him in dispatches.

John and myself then went up to the C & W shed to drop off some paint tins and to see the great progress being done by the ever increasing number of volunteers on 80097 in the Bury Standard 4 Shed.
The quick drying but cold environs of the wind tunnel that is the road bridge at the end of B.B.S. were a great deal of painting was being done.
After returning from our little excursion up to Heywood and back we retreated to our workshop for a warm and a final brew before having an early dart, as the actress said to the Bishop!!
Back next week. T.T.F.N.
