The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 09-06-2024.

Post by asbibby »

:D Today the electrical team consisted of Jonathan, Stephen, Colin, Sophie, Dave B, Dave E and myself, we had a swift brew and a breakfast bun before starting work.

Dave B had brought with him the spares we required to finish off the re-wiring of the beer cellar in Bury Bolton Street Station, this was all accomplished and tested.

Another job was to check the spare light fittings which we have for the staircase in Bury Transport Museum, we are going to repair some of the broken emergency lights and replace the fluorescent bulbs with LED lights. Clive is designing some new circuitry to enable this.
Some of the team then went over to the museum to find out how many of the different types of staircase light fittings there are.

Lunch was then taken in our workshop, the weather being a bit inclement.

The switch controlling the new lights in the beer cellar was re-wired so now when the switch is in the down position the lights come on.

We had a look at what would be required to installing lights in two new steel sheds in the undercroft, this is at the request of the Station Master. :)

The final task was to secure the beer cellar door frame which had become detached from the wall and was causing a safety issue.
Two metal L shaped brackets were made to secure the frame to the brickwork using large rail plugs and screws.

Next week will probably be museum lights if we get the spares or make a start on the Ramsbottom Station platform lamp head painting.
