Jonathan and myself tested the fire alarm call point in the Bury Bolton Street Station shop, the test was completed and the result recorded.
The beer cellar lighting project was looked at to ascertain what components were required to finish off the job.
We split into two groups; Colin, Sophie, Jonathan and myself, Colin had completed the calibration of the Smith’s speedo head off the Bury Standard 4 Group engine 80097 over the past couple of weeks.
We made our way to Baron Street works to install the generator and to connect up the speedo head on the engine footplate.
The speedo head was connected up and the generator spun using a motor powered by a 12volt battery, the speed was tested up to 40mph in steps of 5mph.
The speedo was then disconnected and will be permanently fixed in position once all the work on the boiler has been completed.
Clive, John, David B and Peter caught the train up to Rawtenstall to check out the operation of the three way switching of the platform lights, a problem was found which will be sorted over the next couple of weeks.
The train was caught up to Rawtenstall to see if the team required any help with the lighting project, we met up and all had lunch outside on the station platform in the brilliant sunshine.
We boarded the train again and made our way back to Bury Bolton Street Station and our workshop.
Clive had noticed that the platform two clocks were showing incorrect times so we obtained the control box key and reset the clocks to the correct time.
With that task completed we all made our way home, i shall be back next week on the Forties Weekend.
