The Electrical Volunteers report Sunday 24-10-2021.

:) Today i was joined by Clive, John and Jonathan, we were asked to have a look a blocked drain on the flat section of the canopy at the bottom of the stairs on platform 3/4.
Water was cascading down soaking the signalling telephone, we sorted this by covering the telephone with a clear plastic bag.
A cast iron 90 degree piece of the drain appears to be the problem, we tried to free the blockage from the top of the drain with no success, a new pipe section looks to be the solution.

We had a brew with some chocolate muffins supplied by Sue Sue with a jam and cream sponge cake for later provided by John.

It was then decided to carry on with the installation and reconfiguring of the emergency lights on the overbridge at Bury Bolton Street Station, two units were taken down, the units were rewired, new LED tubes and emergency LED,s fitted then the two modified were units refitted.

Lunch was then taken midway through all this work with another brew and a share each of the sponge cake. :D

Harry from the Bury Standard 4 Group shop asked us to PAT test a model railway controller, Jonathan did the honours with the controller, it was then returned to Harry in the shop.

A D type bulb was replaced along with a new starter in the shop the concourse.

One of the units proved a bit of a problem which will be resolved at a later date, the fitting was not very secure and a temporary fix was made to make it safe. 8)

One final brew then we high tailed it back back home, we shall be back next week making at start on erecting the Christmas lights at Rawtenstall Station, weather permitting.
