After a swift brew Jonathan and Len went off to check out the fire alarm call points in the Trackside and BBS concourse, everything worked satisfactory and the results logged.
On the BBS over bridge we noticed that one of the newly installed LED tubes was not working at the top of the steps leading down to platform three and four. This turned out to be a faulty special starter unit provided with the LED tube, a spare one was sourced and the LED tube lit up.
We tried our new self supporting ladder to see if we could use it to replace with LED tubes the twin fluorescent light fittings on the staircases. We found out that this can only be done with two of these ladders.
Lunch was then taken along with a few jockeys whips from the Trackside cafe.
The next task was to utilise some plastic sheeting which Jonathan had brought in to cover and protect the two outside electrical cabinets we had painted last week.
We had been asked if we would change the floodlights lighting up the authorised walkway outside the Bury Standard Four Group workshop, one floodlight is at the front of the workshop and the other is at the rear of the workshop, lighting up the area underneath the road bridge.
The floodlight would be replaced with LED lighting the rear floodlight was tackled first, with the new LED lighting unit installed. The wiring to the floodlight is in pyro and we are short of the necessary parts to complete the job, these parts will be sourced and the job completed.
A final brew outside of our workshop with only biscuits this week, sob, sob!!
We will be missing next week as we have all been invited to Clive BBQ bash in Roby Mill just outside of Wigan, see you all in a fortnight. The Sparkie Team.
