Today it was me, Alan, Len and John. The fire alarms were tested as usual. The 1950s clock for the Trackside that we assembled last week was found to be keeping good time.
We assembled and tested the last of the three refurbished light fittings for under the canopy at Rammy, just in time to miss the 10-20 am train to Rammy. As we waited for the next train, me and Alan had a walk, down Baron Street. Most of Riley’s machinery has been shifted out. Our engine shed will be much improved for the extra space.
We caught the next train to Rammy. The three light fittings were re-installed. We did this using a ladder to hook one end of the fitting at a time. Tea was provided by the station staff. We got the next train back to Bury.
We then went to the museum. One of the Victorian lamp posts at the side of the museum is not working. We need a three section ladder to get up to the photo cell, high up on the museum wall. (this controls the lights) We could only find two sections of our ladder. The bottom section (the widest one) has disappeared. I suspect our paid full time member. This job will have to be put on hold until next week.
There appears to be a fault on one of the display lights in the museum. This can be looked at next week. We went back to the workshop for a final brew before we knocked off.
