:) Jonathan came in on Saturday to put the final coat of paint on the three ex. Nuneaton Station lamp heads, these lamp heads will be erected on platform two later in the year.

Sunday saw us with a full team, Clive, Jonathan, John and myself, Len was away doing a gig with the George Formby group.
The fire alarm call points were checked out in the Trackside and the Concourse, all worked fine and the work was recorded in the respective log books.

Simon the ELR full time electrician asked us if we would make a start on replacing the lighting in the Carriage & Wagon works with the newly purchased LED tubes. The tubes are 24w each in the twin units as against 70w each with the fluorescent tubes, this should give a considerable saving in electricity being used and hopefully cut down on maintenance.
We managed to complete one row of lighting which consisted of ten double units, the wiring as to be altered and labels fitted to the units to inform maintenance staff that only LED tubes can be fitted.
The live end of the light fittings were also marked up, to show which end the tube should be fitted.

Once the row of lights had been completed we made our way back to our workshop for some late lunch. :D

The three lamp heads which Jonathan had painted on Saturday were brought outside of the workshop and the wiring modified to take the new LED tubes.
The fibreglass tops of the lamp heads were test fitted to see which was fitted best to the three lamp heads and some repairs were also done to the fibreglass tops.

A final brew and a clear up and that was it for another week in the electrical department, no cakes today what went wrong? :(
