No work done this week at the railway, I was visiting the grand children in South Wales, Len was looking after his wife after a hospital stay, Jonathan was looking after his Dad following another hospital stay, Clive was having a sabbatical and John was rung up to say that the troops would be thin on the ground on Sunday.
Hopefully most of us will be back next Sunday barring a catastrophe.

I have just received a call from John to say he came down to the railway on Sunday, he was on his own but there is always something to do in the workshop so John set about stripping years of paint from some of the carriage terminal covers which we had removed the previous week.
These particular covers were made from cast iron instead of the usual softer material which made it difficult to remove the layers of paint, John eventually gave up and decided to take them home and to use nitromors to shift the paint.
The phone in the workshop rang and John was asked if he would change a D type bulbs in the gents toilets and check the bulbs in the ladies toilets at Ramsbottom Station.
The D type bulb in the Gents toilet was changed for the spare kept in the Station.
In the Ladies one of the D type bulbs was flashing this one will be replaced next week.
Whilst John was at Ramsbottom he was asked if he would have a look at the automatic water flusher in the Gents urinals, this is a small electronic box containing a timer and a valve. John established the problem was a blown fuse, a new one will be sourced and fitted.
John then returned to the workshop to pick up the components he was going to work on at home and called it a day.
