Mr Riley and his lovely black 5 coming home after yesterdays disaster railtour to York, must emphasise that problems were not in any way related to the steam.

Yesterday I waited at Man Vic till 1.15 for this train.

ECS hauled by 47500 (with 45407 on the rear) late off Crewe to Liverpool; brake issues IIRC. Train late to York as a result although did run via booked route about 3 hours down.

45407+35508 detached at York and the 57 which was used Crewe to Liverpool... I think 313, eventually took the stock back to Liverpool from York.

Met by a second WCR loco at Liverpool which took the stock to Carnforth. 57 to Crewe. 45407 + 35508 were supposed to be dropped off en route to travel to Heywood; but this didn't happen hence the run this morning

I believe David is already doing a pretty good job to counter the general bean counter image; that Accountants know the cost of everything and the value of nowt!
