Jonathan was busy again on Saturday stripping more old carriage plugs ready for painting.
Sunday saw a full team with Clive, John, Len, Jonathan and myself, first job as usual was to test out the fire alarm call points in the Station and The Trackside and to record the findings.
A report came in that a electric heater had failed in the Tardis on platform 3/4 this was taken back to the workshop for investigation.
This heater was repaired, a faulty cut out was the culprit, it was retensioned and tested out OK.
Len, John and Clive went to Summerseat to reset the timer program for the Station lights ready for the scouts visit next Saturday evening, the program was also set for the winter with the lights coming on at 15:00 hrs and going off at 18:30 hrs. Saturday and Sunday.
These lights will eventually be controlled from Ramsbottom signal box.
Meanwhile Jonathan and myself went to the Carriage & Wagon shed to swap some more carriage plugs ready for the stock to be used on the steam gala next week.
We did two carriages & then went back to our worshop for some lunch and a brew, a few minutes later Clive, John & len came back from Summerseat for their lunch.
Jonathan, Len and myself went back to the Carriage & Wagon to finish off fitting two plugs and pattresse's which had been very stubburn to remove.
We finished up fitting new pattress's, carriage plugs and covers.
John & Clive had found a Santon water heater which had been thrown out, we recovered it because we had already replaced one of the same water heaters in one of the signal boxes which had failed due to a open circuit element, we now have one repaired Santon heater and some spares.
We then refitted the cables on the BBS 24 volt battery charger the cables had been pulled out of the cable glands, we tied the cables together inside the charger to take the strain off the cables and refitted the cable glands, A good clean up on the outside casing & it is as good as new.
Last job to do was to fit a new starter in an eight foot fluorescent fitting in the Carriage & Wagon office on the way back to car at Baron Street works.
Another full day for the electrical volunteers, roll on the steam gala next week.

I did wonder who was walking past me on Platform 2 around 10am carrying carriage plugs in a big box.asbibby wrote:Meanwhile Jonathan and myself went to the Carriage & Wagon shed to swap some more carriage plugs ready for the stock to be used on the steam gala next week.
I would be the Guard stood near the staff mess on Platform 2. Had I not been looking slightly bemused, wondering when the bubble would appear from CS1, I would have said hello. Sorry Gents..!
