On Saturday Jonathan came in to the workshop to carry on with carriage plug stripping and painting.

Sunday saw a full team minus Clive who was busy doing other work, Len, Jonathan and John set about checking out the alarm call points on the fire alarm systems at BBS and The Trackside pub/cafe.

The first task was to get our digging tools and some plastic piping for a job at Summerseat, we caught the second train up to Summerseat with Leander up front.

We arrived at Summerseat in glorious sunshine, the job in hand was to ensure a connection between the electrical distribution box and the location cabinet, the two boxes are about a metre and a half apart, we soon established after opening our electrical box that there were two ducts out of the box one for the incoming mains and the other linking the location cabinet.

This was good to find, no digging required to link the cabinets.
This job will be ongoing as we want to establish remote operation of the Station lights from the signal box at Ramsbottom, more of this later.

We caught the next train back to BBS for some lunch and a brew after lunch we decided to make up the two new carriage leads for the Great Western observation coach, we finished this job and set off for the C & W works to fit the plugs, this coach will be wired to make the plugs work when fitted in a rake of coaches, at present it is wired using only two wire instead of the normal three wires.

John and Len went up to Baron Street in John's van to recover the scaffold and bring it back to BBS ready for us to erect the Christmas lights shortly.

Jonathan and myself changed all four of the carriage plugs on one of the carriages brought in for some quick bodywork repairs, this carriage is due out again next week on the Diesel Gala.

This job done it was getting late so we went back to BBS for a brew before calling it a day, another fun packed day with beutifull weather.
