Jonathan came in on Saturday again to clean and paint some more of the carriage plugs we are re-furbishing. This is an ongoing task which is great for us in that when the weather is inclement, we have something to fall back on work wise.
On Sunday Clive was the only volunteer missing has he was attending a wedding on the previous night.
We all met up in our workshop Len & Jonathan tested the fire alarm call points in the booking office and The Trackside and logged their findings.
I checked up on the statutary fire evacuation signs in The Trackside and the booking office, new ones need to be ordered ASAP.
We then decided because the weather was so bad that we would make up a string of Christmas lights which we had been given by a passenger last year, these had been stripped down previously to rid the string of old joints which had failed on a megger and continuity test.
We made good with new soldered joints and heat shrink tubing, we now have a string containing ninety lights which we will erect at Rawtenstall Station in time for Christmas.
John meanwhile had started to clean up a proverbial shed full of copper pins from the carriage plugs which we had previously stripped down, this kept John busy for the rest of the day.
We broke for some lunch and then carried on with the Christmas lights, before testing each section for continuity and any short circuits, all proved good.
