On Saturday Jonathan came in to do some more work on stripping carriage plugs.

Sunday saw Len, Clive, John, Jonathan and myself, first job as usual was to check out the fire alarm call points and log it.
We had a quick brew and started work on assembling the refurbished parts of the carriage plugs, we then caught the second train up to Rawtenstall West signal box to assess what would be needed to install a new instant water heater like the one fitted in Townsend Fold signal box.
Lunch was taken on the way up to Rawtenstall before working in the signal box.
We had previously been given three of these instant water heaters, two will have been used when we fit this heater next week.
A list was made of the various fittings we will need to install the heater, these will be obtained during the week.

I checked out the clocks at Rawtenstall for timekeeping then caught the same train back to BBS to carry on with the carriage plugs.

The other volunteers soon joined up with me back in our workshop at BBS, Jonathan and myself walked down to the Carriage & Wagon shed to finish off fitting some new carriage plugs on one of the carriages.
We then started to solder up more of the carriage plugs and strip down more of the copper connectors, before testing and heat shrinking the finished carriage plug leads.
A total of ten more carriage plugs had been completed today, before leaving for home Jonathan painted four plug shells ready for next week.
