The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 13-03-2022.

:D Today was a nice dry but windy day i was joined by Jonathan, John, Colin and Clive, we had a brew, a bacon barm and a piece of cake each, before starting work.

The lamp at the end of platform two at Bury Bolton Street Station was not working, on investigation it was found that the slide isolation mechanism was faulty, this was replaced with a spare unit, problem fixed.

Part of the mobile tower scaffold had been returned to our workshop after being aluminium welded, we re-assembled the mechanism and replaced the old bolts with new ones.
We need to order from the mobile tower scaffold manufacturer's two new rubber feet for the stabilisers and a couple of wing nuts.

The railway is closed next weekend so we will take the opportunity of renovating the last emergency lighting unit at the bottom of the stairs leading to platform two BBS.
We sourced some wood packing as this will be needed to affix our mobile tower scaffold to renovate the lighting unit. 8)

Lunch was then taken in our workshop with another brew and more cake.

Stuart from the Bury Standard 4 Group brought us a 110 volt angle grinder to fix, on inspection and strip down the problem was identified as worn brushes.
We shall see if we can purchase some new ones during the week.

An old clock had been donated to us a couple of months ago so we took the opportunity of checking to see if it worked.
On testing, the electrical motor was found to be open circuit, a replacement motor may be sourced. :)

Sue had given us a coffee grinder which was PAT tested then taken to the Bury Standard 4 Group shop. :D

We shall be back next week for more electrical manoeuvres, tea and cakes.
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
