The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 27-02-2022.

:D Today I was joined by Clive, Jonathan and Colin.
We all sampled the hospitality of the ELR kitchen and had a bacon barm and a brew before deciding what jobs we would do today.
Seeing as this was the steam gala with plenty of trains timetabled and no rain forecast, it was an ideal time to recover the Christmas lights from the various stations.

Today was a lovely day with plenty sunshine, very pleasant although a bit nippy. 8)

We caught the 09:30 train from Bury Bolton Street Station to Rawtenstall with our long ladders and the containers for the Christmas lights which we had been unable to recover, since the railway did not run any trains in January and early February. 8)

We managed to recover the lights at Rawtenstall and catch the same train back to Ramsbottom Station to recover the lights there.
The next train was then caught back to BBS and our lunch with a hot brew and cakes provided by Clive and Sue Sue. :) .

The mag drill which Clive had repaired was collected by The Standard 4 Group whilst we had our lunch in our workshop.

The Christmas lights containers along with a small trolley were loaded onto the next train which just happened to be hauled by The Royal Scot locomotive up to Heywood Station to recover the two sets of lights there.
This was soon done and with all the lights packed away we caught the next train back to BBS.
After storing all the containers and our ladders away we had a final brew and another cake before signing off for the day, a job well done. :D
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
