The Electrical Volunteers report Sunday 14-11-2021.

Post by asbibby »

:D Today on Remembrance Sunday i was joined by Len, Jonathan and John, it was lovely day, the first task was to test the fire alarm call points in BBS Concourse, all was well and the result recorded. :)

We were informed that an electrical board under the platform edge at BBS had come adrift and was not attached to the wall anymore, this was going to be sorted but we could not obtain a block on the line for long enough, so the job will have to wait till next Sunday. :(

We all then attended the one minutes silence at 11:00 and laying of wreaths on the overbridge at BBS in memory of all those who lost their lives in conflicts around the world.

Tracey the General Manager asked us if we would hang up four new hanging baskets on platform two at BBS.

Seeing that the weather was so good on this DMU weekend we loaded the Christmas lights for Ramsbottom Station and set off taking our lunch boxes with us.

Two sets of Christmas lights were erected, one set under the canopy and one set along the lamp posts on platform one.
The lights were then switched on to see if any bulbs were blown, only one was found to be out.
Lunch was had at Ramsbottom Station with a brew supplied by ELR staff.

It was then back to our workshop for a well earned brew and a quarter each of a song & jam cake brought in by John, very nice it was too. :D

Richard Law then visited us in the workshop to present us all with ELR 10year awards, one for Clive as well, Thank You.

The four hanging baskets were then sorted on platform two, after which we locked up our workshop and made our way home, back next Sunday for electrical shenanigans. 8)
