The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 6-12-2015.

Post by asbibby »

Just three hardy souls in today, Jonathan, John and myself, no Len he had a late night after the ukulele club evening out and Clive has gone down under for a wedding. 8)

We waited for the downpours to subside before seeing to the Christmas lights on platform two at Bury Bolton Street Station a few of the bulbs had been smashed near the Bury Standard Four shop due to the high winds last week.
The bulbs were changed and made secure and the timer reset, the lights then tested out OK.

The next Santa train was caught up to Ramsbottom Station to change five remaining Station light bulbs for the new corn LED lamps.
Lunch was taken in the cosy waiting room at Ramsbottom with a brew kindly supplied by the station staff, it was then back to the station lights, an energy saver lamp was fitted in the waiting shelter and all the lights tested, no problems.
The two lights which didn't work last week were now found to be working, someone must have rectified the problem.

The santa train was then caught back to BBS and our workshop for a brew and a tidy up of the workshop.

Last job of the day was to check out the two wall heaters in the FXP porto-cabin, one was found to work OK and the other did not work. It was taken off the wall for further investigation in the workshop.
The problem turned out to be a faulty rotary switch, we will attempt a repair, we then made our way home, back next week for more problems to sort out.

Thanks for looking at the heaters in the Bunco Booth. We will need them for FXP in January.

Must be the first ever report not to mention the fire alarm test though!!!

 Nay cakes on Sunday, don't know what went wrong!

The reason we don't test the fire alarm call points during the Santa trains, is to not cause a panic with the Santa customers, Mr Manaring! :)
