Read the book, "Behind the Steam" by WW Morgan and his daughter, I forget her married name, but it tells of his life at Nayland loco shed in south Wales, things like when driving a goods train on a single track section just happeneing to have a rifle with him the shhot a few rabbits.
The GWR just wasn't as perfect as it fans would have us all believe.
A good suggestion might be for you to join josh's forum and discuss the merits (or otherwise) of the GWR in there rather than in the present links thread!
