The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 20-06-2021.

Post by asbibby »

:D Nearly a full team of Sunday electrical volunteers in today, Clive, John, Jonathan, Colin and myself, the weather forecast for today was not too clever but it turned out to be a very pleasant day. 8)

Jonathan and myself checked out the fire alarm call point in the front office in BBS station, a different call point will be tested out each Sunday. :)

The steam traction today was BR Standard 4 tank engine 80097 ably assisted by the diesel Phil Southern.

First task for us all after a swift brew was to install the wiring and trunking for a new curtain 3KW heater in the mess room on platform 3/4 at Bury Bolton Street Station, this was completed and the heater tested. 8)

Lunch was then taken El Fresco outside our workshop with a cake provided by John.

Whilst sorting out a five foot fluorescent fitting in the BS4G shed we were asked to look at bench grinder which had a faulty switch, this was delivered to our workshop were we could ascertain what the problem was.
The problem turned out to be loose screws holding the switch in position, after tightening up the screws the grinder was returned to the BS4G shed sorted.

A small fluorescent fitting was changed in the BS4G shop for a new fitting. :)

The final task of the day was to wire a new fluorescent fitting in the store wagon belonging to the BS4G shop, this was completed and tested OK. :)

A final brew was had by all of us before calling it a day, we shall be back next week with more illuminating stories of the going's on in the electrical department. :P
