The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 16-02-2020.

Post by asbibby »

:D Four intrepid volunteers in today a cold damp day but a least it wasn't raining, i was joined by Clive, John, and Colin.
We had a warming brew and then changed a double light switch in our workshop one of the switches was faulty the other switch we would use to replace a faulty one in the BS4G shed.
We made our way to the Bury Standard 4 Group workshop to fit the switch and called in the BS4G shop on the way to drop off some articles to sell in the shop and to sell some eggs from the egg man, Clive.

Whilst in the shop a model train controller was given to us to PAT test before it was offered for re-sale.
No one was in the BS4G shed so it was back to our workshop to PAT test the controller, the test proved satisfactory, it was then labelled and returned to the shop.

Station staff at BBS Station asked to have a look at the Disabled Toilet sign on platform four, which needs some attention by a welder. 8)

We then reassembled two six foot fluorescent fittings and stored them away.

Clive and John repaired, then tested an old valve radio which had been given to us to see if we could effect a repair, the valve sockets were cleaned and tweaked and the tuner blades re-alligned,
It was then put on test and worked OK.

It was then decided to go for a ride on the Black Five 44871 up to Heywood and partake of lunch on the train in the warmth of the steam heated carriages.

The Station clocks at BBS, Ramsbottom and Rawtenstall were all checked for accuracy with a radio controlled watch and found to be accurate. :)

It was then back to our workshop for a brew and some chocolate eclairs bought by Sue Sue. MMMmmmm.

We shall be back next week with some better weather we hope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
