The Electrical Volunteers Report Saturday 12-11-2022.

Post by asbibby »

:D Today i was joined by Stephen, Jonathan, John, Colin, Sophie and David B we had a brew and a bacon barm before gathering together all our gear for Christmas lights erection time at Ramsbottom and Rawtenstall Stations.

We completed the fire alarm call point checks at BBS and recorded our findings in the log book.

The 10:10 train hauled by City of Wells was caught which transported us to Ramsbottom Station where we erected the first set of Christmas lights on the station lamp posts.
A lamp check was completed on the Christmas lights under the canopy and several green bulbs were changed. :)

The DMU was then caught which took us to Rawtenstall Station, all our gear was unloaded and the Christmas lights erected on the lamp posts.
The station staff informed us that the cafe coach was to be refurbished in the carriage and wagon shed during December so the supply to the lights will have to be from a new source in the station shelter. 8)
This job requires some electrical protection equipment which will be sourced and fitted next Sunday.
Lunch was taken in the cafe with hot drinks supplied by the cafe staff, we then caught the 14:30 train back to BuryBolton Street Station.
We were lucky with the weather and did not get too wet.
On arrival we unloaded all our gear and packed it away before making our way home, back next week for more illuminating stories from underneath the stairs at BBS. :)
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
