The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 15-10-2023.

Post by asbibby »

:D Today at the ELR it was Gala day, i was joined by Jack, Jonathan, Colin, Clive, Len, Sophie and Dave attended a basic safety course in Tate Towers in Baron Street.

We all had a breakfast barm and a warming brew after what turned out to be the first frost of the Autumn.

The fire alarm call point checks were done in the shop at BBS and the result recorded.

We decided to test all the strings of Christmas lights which we erect and changed quite a few which were shown to be blown once we had connected them up to the mains.

Harry from Bury Standard $ Group paid us a visit and asked us to check out some model railway power units, these were all tested O.K. and returned to Harry. 8)

Lunch was then taken in our workshop.

After lunch we carried on testing and changing bulbs on the final set of Christmas lights, all we need now is to find out were our mobile tower scaffold is to allow us to erect the Christmas lights. If any one knows who has them please return them where they came from and inform us when they are returned, please.

The blue button system was checked after we found out the main barrow crossing at BBS was not working, this turned out to be a loose battery in the transmitter. :P

A final brew was had with some cakes provided by Sue and Jack, back next Sunday for more enlightening works.

We need some form of plassy clip to hold the blue button batteries in.
Also, Geoff (stn master) would like a better noise making. May try a solenoid hitting an old phone bell.
