Another lovely sunny day down on the East Lancashire Railway, John, Colin, Sophie, Jonathan and Stephen joined me today to make up the electrical volunteers team.
We all had a breakfast sandwich and a brew outside our workshop before starting today’s tasks.
Jonathan and Colin went off to do the fire alarm call point checks at BBS Station, all was well and the result logged.
We went to the Bury Standard 4 Group shop to inspect the one metre high walkway, which is constructed using scaffolding poles and clamps.
The four lamp heads we had refurbished last Sunday were re-assembled, then tested, before loading all our tools, lamp heads and ladders on the 11:55 train to Summerseat Station.
On arrival we unloaded all our equipment and set about re-installing the lamp heads and removing another three lamp heads for refurbishment back in our workshop.
On arrival back in BBS we unloaded all our gear and stripped the three lamp heads down and sanded them ready for painting next Sunday.
We had a final brew and some cakes provided by Sue and Stephen, before packing all our stuff away and logging off for the day.
