Just Jack, Len, Alan and myself, Clive today. First, a brew.

We found some screws for the brass floor plates covering the hinges on the main entrance to BBS. 4 doors. After cleaning out the threaded holes in the cast casements, and shortening the screws, the job was a success. So Alan took to brassoing the plates. Nice job. What has this to do with electricals, who knows.

Then lunch with custard tarts brought by Alan. Probably Sue's doing.

Back up to the overbridge to tackle the emergency lighting. Battery replacement. Those fittings are a nightmare. Very difficult to align the bits when putting them back together. We got 3 more done. We'll test their effectiveness next time. There's a special keyswitch for that.

Said 'hello' to Tracey Parkinson and Richard Law who passed by.

Next week, weather permitting, might try to fix the lighting on the passage at the side of BTM. Sounds like a photocell issue. And a couple of bulbs out.

Today the electrical volunteers team consisted of Clive, John, Len and myself, after a brew it was decided to find some suitable small screws for the brass door plates in the booking hall at BBS.

We managed to cut down to size about six screws and fitted them to the door plates, making them much more secure.
It was decided then to rub down the brass plates with some sand paper to remove decades of grime from the plates, they were then finished off with some brass polish to give them a nice shine.

Lunch was then taken again outside in some nice sunshine, finished off with some custard tarts supplied by Sue Sue.

The replacement of batteries in the emergency lights was then continued with new re-chargeable batteries in the light units on the overhead bridge in Bury Bolton Street Station, what a job this has turned out to be.
We managed to change another three units before going for a brew and calling it a day, back next week for more electrical shinanigans.
