Just Clive, John and myself in today, Len was entertaining the War Weekend crowds in the Bury Transport Museum with the George Formby band.
We had a quick brew and a meat pie before starting work, the first job was to install a fixed pillar drill unit which came with an electric drill. This was fixed to our workbench with threaded rod and nuts and washers, then tested.
The inside and outside of our workshop was then given a good sweeping out and the rubbish bins emptied.
Irene asked us to have a look at a light which wasn't working near the ticket barriers in Bury Bolton Street Station, this duff 4pin D type fluorescent unit was replaced with a new one.
We then boarded the train hauled by the GWR engine "Witherslack Hall" to Rawtenstall and back to have a look at what was going on on our railway during the 1940' war weekend. The costumes worn by the general public, re-enactors and railway staff was very good.
Back to normal duties next week.
