The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 15-11-2015.

Post by asbibby »

:) We were down to three volunteers today, John rang in pat & mick with a bad cold and Len was away at a christening, which left just myself, Clive & Jonathan.
First job was to test out the fire alarm call points as per usual in the Trackside Pub and BBS concourse, all worked well and we recorded the results.

Both Jonathan and myself were due medicals in Tate Towers in the morning, so just before the medicals we secured the lamp tops on three of the newly erected lamp posts on platform two.
This involved drilling holes the the lamp tops into the top of the lamp posts and inserting a large self tapping screw to stop the lamp tops from spinning round in the wind.

Lunch was taken before catching the train up to Ramsbottom Station after a report that the station lights were tripping out.
We changed a lot of Christmas 15w light bulbs and replaced four station 160w bulbs with 20W LED bulbs, the rest of the station lamps will also be replaced during the coming weeks.
This is to reduce the amount of electricity the railway consumes, this work changing over to LED lighting will be an ongoing job into 2016. :)

The fault with the station lights proved to be on the over bridge or on platform two as when we isolated platform two lights & the bridge the lights stayed on on platform one, more investigation is required.

It was then back to Bury and home.
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
