The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 17-5-2015.

Post by asbibby »

:) We nearly had a full compliment of electrical volunteers today, only Clive was missing as he was attending a radio club meeting.

Jonathan and Len went off to do the fire alarm call point checks in The Trackside and Bury Bolton Street Concourse, everything tested out fine and their finding were recorded.

I had received a message asking us to check out a pressure washer in the diesel shed which was blowing fuses, this was because the fuse rating of a standard plug is 13 amps.
The fuse was replaced with another 13amp fuse to ensure the washer was working OK and after a couple of minutes the plug top was getting warm. The old 13 amp plug was then removed and the mains lead fitted with a 16 amp blue industrial plug, Simon the full time electrician will fit an 16 amp socket adjacent to the electrical distribution box in the diesel shed on Monday, job sorted. :)

John has managed to find a friend to do the signs on the three ex. Nuneaton station lamp heads to read "Bury Bolton Street" and also to get the damaged perspex covers repaired at no extra cost to the railway these are destined eventually for platform two at BBS. 8)

Simon asked us to make up ten off twenty metre electrical leads with a blue industrial plug on one end and a blue industrial socket on the other end, these are to be used for some re-enactment purpose during the war weekend.
The leads were made up by Jonathan, John, Len and myself and PAT tested by Jonathan once all the leads had been completed.

We were short in the cake department today so we had to rely on the station buffet for some Eccles cakes to have with our afternoon brew.

That was it for another week, see you all next weekend, don't mention the war.
