The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 01-2-2015.

Post by asbibby »

:) A full team turned up today minus Clive who must have been otherwise engaged with his major projects.
Len, John, Johnathan and myself arrived early on a very cold but sunny day, we met Simon the ELR full time electrician in our workshop for a brew before deciding what would be the order of the day.

The fire alarm call points were checked out as usual in The Trackside and the concourse with Jonathan and Len, everything was satisfactory and the results were logged.

Simon had purchased two boxes of five foot daylight tubes to do a tube replacement job in the carriage & wagon shed, during the week he had replaced the tubes on all three walkways where the carriages are restored.
We set off to the carriage & wagon shed to replace the tubes at the high level in the workshop, a couple of fittings require changing, but we will need the mobile tower scaffold to replace those units.

It was back to our workshop for some lunch and a warm before going back to the carriage & Wagon shed to finish off the tube replacement.

The mobile scaffold is now complete again after we purchased a replacement top safety unit, the scaffold has nine red rails, four white rails, two extension units, four stabilisers and one main bottom unit.

Two carriage plugs were completed, they just need heat shrink and testing before being completed.
