Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 25/08/13

Post by JONATHAN-BARNES »

Today it was just me, Len and John.

Me and Len tested the fire alarms as usual.

We all spent the day working in the new offices across road from BBS station. We helped Simon (the full timer) to install overhead telecoms / data cables from the rooftop of the booking office to a bracket high up on the wall of the new office building. This consists of a high tensile catenenary wire with two multi pair cables tied to it with cable ties. We got the cable across quickly when the road was clear.

We installed some plastic compartmentalised trunking on a wall in one of the new offices. This carries power cables and data cables in separate compartments. We had to use angle grinder to cut out some skirting board.

A busy day. No time for cakes.

Good grief - I hope that wasn't the skirting board we painted earlier in the week!
