The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 13-1-2013.

Post by asbibby »

Only four of us today Len and John were missing but i was joined by Clive, Jonathan and Chris, we decided to clean up the workshop first and to put some equipment upstairs in our storage room to make a bit more room to work in.

The fire alarm call points were tested out in The Trackside & BBS, everything tested out OK and the findings were logged.

We then recovered our mobile tower scaffold and collected the containers for the Christmas lights for Ramsbottom Station and caught the black five up to Ramsbottom Station, on arriving we unloaded our equipment and dismantled the two strings of Christmas lights, then packed them away in their respective boxes.

The next train in at Ramsbottom was the DMU service to Rawtenstall so this was boarded along with all our equipment to disconnect the Christmas lights from the temporary supply at Rawtenstall Station.
The same train was caught back to Bury Bolton Street Station, all the boxes of lights were unloaded along with the mobile tower scaffold and returned to our workshop.
The Christmas lights at Rawtenstall Station will be recovered next week weather permitting.

After some lunch and a brew in our workshop we all went up to Baron Street to replace some duff fluorescent tubes in the ELRPS mess room and offices, four tubes and one starter were replaced.

We then returned back to the workshop for a brew and to sample some fruit cake slices which Chris had brought in, very nice too.

The Christmas Trackside lights were then stripped down of all the bulbs, this string of lights have developed a fault and will have to be tested.

That was it for another day and we all tootled off home, back next week for the Steam Gala.
