The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 14-10-2012.

Post by asbibby »

:) Jonathan came in on Saturday to give the BBS station drum clock another coat of black gloss paint, it is now ready for re-installation after the steam gala next weekend.

We will make a start on the station lights at BBS at the same time, due to the roof being renewed water as got into some of the station light fittings.
The lights are due to be refurbished after being refurbished about six years ago, we will clean the shades repaint the metalwork and repair any faults.

On Sunday Clive was joined by Len, John and Chris after a brew they decided to replace one of the station lamp heads at Rawtenstall Station, this lamp head had been removed a few weeks ago due to water ingress. The lamp had been repaired by Jonathan and was ready to be re-installed.

Clive then received a message to ring Graham at Ramsbottom Station, regarding the remote switching of the Station lights at Summerseat. Clive met Graham at Ramsbottom Station to discuss the situation with the remote switching circuitry, Graham wired up the timer in Rammy signal box to the correct pair going back to Summerseat Station but no voltage was detected, more investigation is required.
During the testing a fault was detected on the Station lights at Summerseat there appears to be an earth fault, another fault for next week.

Whilst at Ramsbottom Station it was reported that the Station lights were tripping, another fault to look into next week.

Meanwhile Len and Chris had gone back to our workshop at BBS to carry on with some other electrical work.

Still plenty to do and Christmas Santa trains are getting nearer, back next week after my sojourn at the motor club's rally last weekend.
