On Sunday just gone Ian Rileys Black 5, 45407 took twelve coaches over the Settle and Carlilse. In steam days the maximum load for a five would be I believe 10 at maximum, possibly nine.
Having seen pictures and read reports incredibly the safety valves near lifting at Ais Gill summit.
I have to sat Ian that this is one occasion when I really wish I was there and is an incredible performance. Whats the secret of getting a five to near 7 capabilities, timings excepted.
