The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 03-03-2024

Post by asbibby »

:D Today on a very pleasant day, sunshine and blue skies, i was joined by Jonathan, Jack, Dave B and Dave S, after a brew and a breakfast sarnie we tested out the fire alarm call point at Bury Bolton Street Station, all was fine and we recoded the findings. :)

We then collected all our gear and boarded the 10:00 train to Rawtenstall Station to test the electrical supply for the Cafe carriage which is still being refurbished in the Carriage & Wagon works.

The power was checked to ensure it was still isolated before Dave B got his test gear out to megger the 3 phase supply, all was well so we carried on with fitting the cover of the 3 phase socket.
The power was then restored to test the supply, we had to cut out part of the base of our new electrical box to enable the 3 phase plug to be fitted as it was slightly offline.

The train was then caught back to Bury Bolton Street Station, all our gear offloaded, we had our lunch El Fresco outside of our workshop.

We then made our way to the carriage and wagon shed to see if we could see the cafe carriage which his being refurbished, ready for the steam gala in March. 8)
No access could be gained so it was off to the Transport Museum to collect some outdoor loudspeakers.

It was then back to our workshop for a quick tidy up before calling it a day to watch the Manchester Derby, back next Sunday to meet our new HOD. :)
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
