The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 26-11-23.

Post by asbibby »

:D Today the electrical volunteers welcomed another new recruit, Peter who was joined by Jonathan, John, David and myself, after a brew we thought about going to Heywood Station to erect the Christmas lights but decided on arrival of the DMU shuttle from Heywood which was packed to postpone the job. :D

At least the weather this week was better than last Sunday, dry but very cold, Winter is truly with us.

I had came down to the ELR last Tuesday to connect the electricity supply to the six carriages parked on platform four at Bury Bolton Street Station.
Today it was decided to record how the carriages where connected, noting the carriage numbers, the carriage plugs and how they are connected, a drawing will be constructed so that we all know how the carriages are connected to the mains supply. 8)

The PAT tester was returned to our workshop by Lee our general manager, we just need the printer now.

Lunch was taken in our workshop with a welcome brew and a Mr Kiplings brambly apple pie, courtesy of John.

It was brought to our attention that a fluorescent tube was flashing on and off in the carriage shop, this was disconnected to enable the other fluorescents to be switched on.

A visit to the Bury Standard 4 Group workshop resulted in another job, to test a piece of equipment controlling a circular saw.

We had a final brew before calling it a day, back next week for more electrical work. :)
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
