The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 05-11-2023

Post by asbibby »

:) Today on Bonfire day our team consisted of Jonathan, Clive, David, John, Colin, Sophie and myself, we had our usual brew and breakfast barm and waited for our chat with Lee the general manager after Simon and Lewis had both left the employment at the ELR. :o

It was reported to us that a D type bulb in the gents toilet on platform three/four was flashing on and off, this was checked out and a replacement bulb will have to be found as we didn't have one in stock.

Now that we located our mobile tower scaffold last week we decided to reposition the station clock on platform two so that it is not obstructed by the platform lights.
The scaffold was erected beneath the clock and a new hole was drilled in the steelwork so that the clock could be repositioned, all agreed that the clock is now sited much better. 8)

Lunch was then taken outside in the warm sunshine and blue skies what could be better then watching Chris Beets Jubilee class locomotive Leander letting off steam. :D

Jack had a birthday yesterday and we celebrated his birthday with a lovely sponge cake which he had brought in and a brew from clean cups for a change as Jack had brought in some scouring pads.

Just before lunch we had started to go through our workshop sorting out the wheat from the chaff as regards loads of obsolete electrical items, the good stuff was stored and other stuff disposed of.

Next week we shall start to erect the Christmas lights on the stations starting at Rawtenstall all being well.
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
