The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 29-10-2023.

Post by asbibby »

:) Today on another lovely Sunday i was joined by Jonathan, Colin, Sophie, Dave and a new electrical volunteer David, a breakfast barm and a brew was consumed then onto the first tasks of the day, to change all the Station clocks back to GMT time.

It was pointed out to us that a light had failed near the undercroft and our workshop underneath the stairs on platform two, we sourced a long ladder and changed a blown edison screw bulb.

We then changed the time on the clocks in Bury Bolton Street Station, platform 2/3/4 and the Trackside pub, it was then onto Ramsbottom Station, on arrival the station staff had already changed the clock to GMT time. :)

Next stop was Rawtenstall Station to change the clocks there but was unable to do so as the station master was not in attendance and the key to alter the times was not available to us this will have to be done at a later date.

The train was then caught back to our workshop at BBS and lunch was taken with a brew.

A job we started last Sunday was was partially completed renewing a bulkhead light fitting on the Bury Standard 4 Group shop, a new light fitting was wired up and tested.

We then called it a day, booked out and set off back home to watch the United/City derby on the tele, back next week for more electrical shenanigans. :D
