The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 1-11-2015.

:) Four of us in today, Jonathan, Len, John and myself, Clive was on party duties.

Len and Jonathan went off to do the usual fire alarm call point checks in The Trackside and BBS Concourse, the tests proved successful and they recorded the results.

Simon asked us to start to erect the Christmas lights, so we got out the scaffold and the lights for Heywood Station, some tools and zip ties.

We knew that two of the five newly erected lamp posts on platform two at BBS had broken top fittings on and we made an effort utilising the scaffold to try to remove the tops. They are firmly fixed and it will take some heat and a lot of persuation to shift them, which we attempt later on, now we know what the problem is with them.

The 11:00 train was then caught along with all the lights and scaffold, once at Heywood we erected the two strings of lights and did a lamp check, eighteen blown bulbs were replaced.

Lunch was taken in brilliant warm sunshine at Heywood, never done that before in November for a long time. 8)

We caught the 14:15 train back to BBS and unloaded all our gear back in our workshop.

Three of the newly refurbished ex. Nuneaton lamp heads were brought out of our store and taken to platform two to erect them on top of three of the lamp posts.

A brew was taken after this before we packed the scaffold away and called it a day, back next week for some more Christmas light work at Rawtenstall Station.
