The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 19-4-2015.

Post by asbibby »

:D Jonathan came in on Saturday to paint the fibreglass tops of three station lamp heads we are going to fit on platform two at BBS.
More PAT testing was done in the workshop by Jonathan, a string of 110volt lights was repaired after PAT testing had failed them.

On Sunday a full team were out, John, Jonathan, Len, Clive and myself, Len was true to his promise to bring in last weeks birthday cake for us all to sample, Mark & Sparks best apricot and chocolate rolls.

Len and Jonathan went off to do the usual tests on the fire alarm call points in the Trackside and the concourse, the tests proved OK and the results were recorded.

The rest of us got out the mobile tower scaffold to enable us to replace faulty ballast & igniter components in the station lamp heads at Heywood station.
The scaffold was loaded onto the guards-van along with the new electronic devices to replace the old ballast & igniter components, only one was found to be faulty on switching on the station lights.
The faulty components were removed and replaced with the electronic unit and the lights tested again satisfactory.
We managed to get back on the next train back to BBS for some lunch as the next train back to BBS would not be for another two hours.

Lunch was taken back in the workshop along with Len's birthday cakes, washed down with a brew.

It was then decided to use the scaffold and a long three section ladder to fit the covers on the electrical trunking on platform three and four at BBS, we managed to get about ten sections done and will endeavour to finish this job next Sunday.

We then dismantled the scaffold and put it to bed, one final brew and the chocolate roll was finished off before heading off home. 8)
