The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 12-4-2015.

Post by asbibby »

:D A full team of electrical volunteers turned up today, Jonathan, John, Len, Clive and myself, what a difference a day makes in the weather it was warm last week and today it was cold, wet and windy. :?

First job of the day was to check out the fire alarm call points in The Trackside and the concourse of BBS, everything worked OK and we recorded the results.

Clive and Len caught the 10:30 train up to Rawtenstall Station to do some repairs and to change the power point to one of the clocks we maintain, they would also replace some lights in the ladies toilets which was reported to us earlier in the morning.
Clive and Len completed the repairs and returned to the workshop after lunch.

Myself, Jonathan and John made our selves busy in the workshop remaking the seven RCH plug leads which had been stripped down a couple of weeks ago, they had new cable cut to length, cleaned pins soldered to the wires and new crimps on the wires.
They were all then reassembled and tested for continuity before having heat shrink sleeving fitted over the plugs to prevent water ingress.
These new RCH leads will be fitted on the carriages as they enter the carriage & wagon workshop for maintenance and repairs.

It is Len's birthday next week some will we be expecting some birthday cake?

The workshop was given a sweep after the work on the RCH plugs had been completed, back next week folks. :)
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
