The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 22-12-2013.

Post by asbibby »

:) Christmas is nearly upon us, Jonathan came in on Saturday carrying on with the carriage plug refurbishment program.

The Sunday saw Jonathan again with Len, Clive John and myself, it was decided to take some spare Christmas

light bulbs up to Heywood Station and swap some of the duff bulbs on the two strings of lights.
Clive, Jonathan, John and Len caught the diesel shuttle train up to Heywood whilst I took some of the refurbished carriage plug and lead spares up to the Carriage & Wagon shed.

The team returned from Heywood Station and we all took lunch with some festive stollen cake brought in by Clive.

A phone call was received from Rawtenstall West signal box asking if we could repair a faulty heater from the box, rather than go up to Rawtenstall to collect the heater we asked that it be put on the next train back to Bury Bolton Street for us to repair.
A spare heater was sourced from the spares we carry, it was tested and put on the next train to Rawtenstall and the signal man informed.

We then did some more work on the carriage plug program, soldering cleaned up copper pins and reassembling the plugs and leads ready for heat shrinking next week.

With that we had one last brew and called it a day, back next week, Happy Christmas to you all and don't get too elephant's trunk!!!!!
