The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 24-11-2013.

Post by asbibby »

:D Jonathan worked on some of the stripped down components of the carriage plugs on Saturday painting end covers etc.

I was joined on Sunday by Jonathan, Simon the ELR electrician, Len and John, Len and Jonathan went off to test the fire alarm call points whilst John and myself collected the mobile tower scaffold and the Christmas lights for Rawtenstall Station.

Simon went up to Rawtenstall in his car while we loaded up all our equipment onto the first train up to Rawtenstall, we had three strings of lights to sort out and we had to install a permanent electricity supply from the cafe coach to the lights.

The first job was to install some Christmas icicle lights outside of the Buffer Stops pub, Simon will install a permanent supply later in the week for the lights.

We then sorted out which string of lights we were going to install, whilst Simon connected up a switched supply for the Christmas lights which were to be slung between the platform lamp posts.
We changed the bulbs and coloured lamp covers then fitted them in a colour sequence, before fastening the lights between the lamp posts. We now have two extra strings of lights which we will make up and find somewhere to install them.
The Rawtenstall job will be completed next week when an extension cable has been made and installed, first job next Sunday.

We then had to wait over an hour before we could catch the next train back to Bury Bolton Street Station, next week they will be more trains for us to catch. That was it for another Sunday.
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
