The Sunday Electrical Volunteers Report 7-7-2013.

Post by asbibby »

:D Jonathan came in again on Saturday to finish off painting the newly constructed kick boards for our mobile tower scaffold and to do some work on the carriage plugs.

On Sunday i was joined by Simon, Jonathan, John and Len, Len and Jonathan went off to check out the fire alarm call points in BBS and The Trackside, whilst John went down to the Carriage & Wagon shed to drop off some tins.

Someone kind person had left us a number of electrical fluorescent fittings outside of our workshop, thanks, these were all tested OK and put into our stock, they will be used on pit lighting eventually.

Simon had removed a fitting from the slope on platform four to re-wire the unit onto the new wiring circuit, once removed it was found to be full of water, due to an ineffective sealing strip.
All the electronic innards were unusable so the unit was was stripped of all the electrics, the base unit cleaned and then repainted. We found some new electrical fittings for the unit and drilled holes to enable the new parts to be fitted onto the original metal base plate.
The unit was tested with new tubes and it will be re-fitted next week by Simon.

We then cleaned up a number of perspex covers for the inspection light fittings.

That was it for another Sunday after a brew on a piece of jam sponge cake which John had brought in. An early dash to watch the final games of Murray Mint at Wimbledon.
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
