UK Railtours Sat 30 June inward charter.

Post by david layland »

UK Railtours will again be visiting the ELR on Saturday 30 June. Train originates from London Euston and will terminate at Bury Bolton Street, where the passengers will then change onto ELR services which will both be strengthened considerably for the day. In addition on this day the steam and diesel services will be swapped around - further public details will be placed on the ELR website next week.
Euston service is currently booked for t'n't class 66 + 13 including generator van - there are around 450 already booked on this train.

Will we have a chance to get any leaflets / flyers / Tour Guides / BTM Guides etc onto this train BEFORE it leaves Euston? Thus informing the visitors of what is available on ELR and especially about the BTM which we have to push so hard (but successfully so far).

Wow!! The image of a train kicking out 500 people onto a platform already busy with passengers makes me wonder if it is anyway close to what a Summer's Wakes Week would have looked like? Fewer children but no less dis-organised as the crowd spills out.
I hope someone videos it for posterity/YouTube.

The strengthening required should make for some very interesting photos?
