The Electrical Volunteers Report 15-4-2012.

Jonathan was in on Saturday to do more work on the carriage plugs, stripping the old copper wires from the copper pins and then dunking them in our vinegar bottle to get rid of years of grunge.
He then stripped the paint off one of the carriage plugs and repainted it.

On the Sunday there was only myself and Jonathan, Clive and John had gone to Blackpool to the RSGB radio buy and sell show at the Norbreck Hydro.

Roger from the 26B shop asked us to check out an extension lead which was not working, a blown fuse sorted out the problem.

We caught the first train up to Rawtenstall hauled by the NRM super D 0-8-0 a lovely smooth running engine. The task was to sort out a problem on a double socket in the cafe/carriage on platform two, this was sorted by changing the socket, both outlets now work satisfactory.

Two of the outside canopy light fittings at Rawtenstall Station were removed to be refurbished, once these have been refurbished that will complete the refurbishment of all the canopy light fittings.

The train was caught back to Bury Bolton Street Station were we had lunch, after lunch we walked to the carriage and wagon shed to see if we could remove some carriage plugs from a carriage which had been stopped due to a fault on the braking system, nowone was around so we left them alone.

We went back to our workshop to strip down the two light fittings, rub down the aluminium castings and repaint them.

Simon the full time electrician had contacted us regarding a job at Ramsbottom Station, this job will be tackled next week.

With that we had a brew and called it a day, back next week.
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
