The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 2nd. January 2011.

Post by asbibby »

Just myself and John turned up today, must have been too much alcohol consumed in a short period of time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone had left outside our workshop two 240v electrical leads which appeared to have been run over by some rolling stock as the leads were extremely flat down to the copper wires.

The workshop was tidied up first as we had not been for the last two weeks and Simon must have been very busy trying to keep the stock up to scratch electrically wise, there were batteries and other equipment everywere, old and new.

We cut the blue plugs and sockets from the damaged cable and rewired the plugs and sockets onto new cables.
We broke for some lunch and a brew before finishing off the last one of the leads. These leads are used to connect up to the mains sockets underneath the platforms, to provide power to the chargers on board each carriage. This keeps the batteries fully charged whilst the stock is not being used.
The three repaired leads were left with one of the guards and put in their office for safe keeping.

The electrical timer controlling the platform three, four lights was checked to ensure the time and day was correct.

We then decided to have an early finish having repaired all the leads.
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
