Me and my mate, are wondering why hardly any one has joined? Is there any problems with registering?

... my eyesight isn't as good as it used to be either .....

James,
Couple of points (can you see those, David?) - firstly, it takes some time before forum memberships build up, it's not an instant thing and some patience is required.

Secondly, there are many steam-related forums which, although they may not specialise in the LMS, do have LMS content - hence competition.

Just see how it goes over the next couple of months. If the service provider proves reliable you could get better results - far too many 'free' providers are unreliable long term (don't ask me how I know!! :( )

James
There is already an L.M.S. Society which is very active and has a prolific amount of historical archive material.
To the best of my knowledge it has been inexistence for the best part of 50 years, so my guess is that anybody who wants to be LMS orientated will already be a member of theirs.

Sorry to open the damper on tis but my personnal view is that you may well be wasting your time.
