The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 01-03-2020.

:D Today i was joined by, Len, Clive, Jonathan and John, the weather conditions were at least dry with some weak sunshine but the gale force wind was bitterly cold.

Jonathan had made up two drawings with CAD to identify which light switches control which lights in the Bury Standard 4 Group Shed, these were handed to the group to affix in an appropriate position.

After a brew to warm us all up and some of the best of Mr. Kipling's, Jonathan and Len went off to do the usual fire alarm call point checks in Bury Bolton Street Station and The Trackside Pub.
All the tests proved satisfactory and the results recorded. 8)

The rest of us collected all the gear we had assembled last week to facilitate the work for the Bury Standard 4 Group in the containers they have in Baron Street yard.
We went up in two cars with all our gear, tools, drills, connection box, glands, electrical plugs. etc.

The work up at Baron Street was completed in the bitter cold weather our hands were cold, we tested everything OK and then made our way back to our workshop for some warmth and our lunch.
Jack had brought in a sandwich cake which we devoured washed down with another warming brew. :)

Jonathan and Clive did a swap with our computers installing a more modern computer which had been given to us. :D

We then did a bench test on the moving coil speedometer from BR Standard 4 80097, more work is needed to get it to read correctly, some electronics maybe.

A heater was given to us to repair and test, this will be looked at next week.

We had a final brew and then made our way home, back next week for The ELR Spring Gala, should be good. :D
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
