The Electrical Volunteers report Sunday 22-12-2019.

Post by asbibby »

8) The weather forecast promised us a dry day on Sunday and the forecast turned out to be correct, no rain.
I was joined today by Clive, Len, Colin and John, Jonathan had sent us all an E mail to say he was suffering with a cold and said he would see us later when he was feeling better, our next meet will now be The first Sunday in the New Year. 8)

We received a report that there was no power at all in Ramsbottom Station, the problem was reported to Electricity North West as the problem was on their distribution system. :(

After a brew Clive and Colin went to Tate Towers to finish off some work on the heating control panel, checking the frost stats. etc. :)

Lunch was then taken with hot pies from the staff canteen. 8)

John did some work on his multi-meter and a couple of radios, whilst we were on standby for any electrical problems on the railway. :?

It was reported to us that the lights had gone out on the carriage supplying the presents for the Santa trains, so off we went to investigate the problem, this was caused by a kettle being switched on in the carriage when the supply will only supply lighting, the circuit breaker was reset and the lights were back on.

Another brew was had with some cakes provided by Colin, Mmmmmm.

We then made our way home, we shall be back in the New Year, Merry Christmas to everyone and have a great New Year, don't get too Elephants Trunk !!!!
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
