The Electrical Volunteers report Sunday10-11-2019.

:D A cracking day today for three reasons, first John was back with us after nearly a year away from us, secondly what a beautiful day, warmish, blue sky and no rain or grey skies and thirdly it was the scenic DMU weekend. :)
So nearly a full team today consisting of Jonathan, John, Colin, Clive and my self, Len was contacted to confirm that he was not feeling too good.

The tasks for today was to recover our mobile tower scaffold and the new LED lights for Heywood Station, we collected all our gear and then caught the 10:05 train up to Heywood Station.
On arriving the scaffold was erected and two strings of Christmas lights were fastened to the station platform lamp posts, we also provided an extra mains socket for a Christmas tree.
All the lights were tested and worked OK we then caught the steam train 80080 back to our workshop at Bury Bolton Street Station for some lunch a brew and chocolate mini rolls provided by Colin. 8)

After lunch we got out of storage the Christmas lights for Bury Bolton Street platform two, these were quickly erected and tested. It was then back to the workshop for a final brew and jam and cream sandwich cake provided by John. :D

The final set of Christmas lights will be erected at Ramsbottom Station next Sunday.
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
