The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 27-10-2019

Post by asbibby »

:D Just the three of us in today, Jonathan, len and myself, after a swift brew Len and Jonathan went off to do the fire alarm call point checks in Bury Bolton Street Station concourse and the Trackside pub.
Every thing worked OK and the results logged.

Next task was to reset all the electronically controlled drum clocks on platforms 2, 3, and 4 plus the clock inside the Trackside pub. :)

I had received an E mail asking us to check out the electrical equipment in the FXP building, apparently when the microwave oven was switched on in the kitchen an electrical fault occured.
The fridge under the counter had a pool of water in front of it and when checked all the sockets in the kitchen area were dead.
The microwave oven was PAT tested and proved to be working OK, we then unplugged all the appliances and checked all the circuit breakers and found that one of them had tripped.
This circuit breaker provided the power to all the 13 amp sockets in the kitchen, the circuit breaker would not reset because the ring main is short circuit.
Simon the full time ELR electrician was informed of the problem.

Lunch was then taken in our workshop, no cakes today, Shame!

We then caught the 13:00 hours train to Ramsbottom and Rawtenstall to check on the station clocks, all were found to have been correctly re-adjusted to the correct time after the end of BST.

It was then back to our workshop for a final brew before going home.
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
